The view from our window at Elder Grove

At the beginning of May 2004, we managed to escaped to the Lake District for a few days, and stayed for four nights in the delightful Elder Grove in the centre of Ambleside. While we were there, we couldn't resist dining out twice at our favourite restaurant in Ambleside, the wonderful Zeffirellis. We made the most of the unexppectedly good weather, too, and did plenty of walking. Here's where we went:
